Postpolitics is characterized as the ultimate stage of the de-ontologization of political relations. To approach this cultural and historical phenomenon, the article compares political relations in three contexts – traditional society, the Modern Age and the current Post-Modernism. A working hypothesis: political relations, approaching the present, reveal a gradual liberation from the sacral coordinates, a transition to a new, illusory, virtual quality. Today’s quality of political relations is de-onthologized and extremely desacralized. The political sphere gives rise to a new form of establishing own structure – post-politics, which is different both externally and internally from the politics of the New Time and from the traditional world’s politics. Serving the social structure in the period of its extreme instability and formlessness, post-politics is both a sign and a creator of the situation. In its civilizational mission, post-politics has a foundation that stands out sharply from the format of playful frivolousness. First of all, the civilizational mission itself is already noticeable, and this allows us to talk about non-stochastic and non-self-sufficiency, and the manageability and external programmability of Post-Modernism. This mission is neocolonialism, which is expressed not so much in ownership of production actors, as in the ways, forms and availability of information resources. The dominance of political images, brands, language, symbols, styles today means about the same dominance that for two hundred years have meant ownership of colonial means of production. Stamps of “democracy”, “equality”, “social justice”, “parliamentarism”, “glasnost” (free speech), “individual rights” won a triumphant victory, replacing not only the national specifics of political processes, the national political mentality, but also the local political language itself. This semiotic globalization does not aim at equalizing the civilizational difference. Violation of national and civilizational identity through the invasion of the Western political language and symbols will not lead to Fukuyama’s growing of peripheral consciousness to the liberal-western level.
